This subject covers specific field of mathematical modelling methods which is solving inverse problems. Inverse problems covers a wide group of mathematical problems in which some quantities are indirectly estimated based on the observations of results. Examples of inverse problems commonly encountered in engineering are:
- Medical imaging,
- Deblurring of images
- Parameter estimation
- Function estimation
- Interpolation and approximation
And so on.
